Abstract: Amplifying acoustic instruments - a deep dive into piezos and convolution

This lecture presents an in-depth exploration of innovative techniques for amplifying string instruments. Through a combination of mindful piezo placement and convolution processing, I will demonstrate how to ‘restore’ the original timbre of an instrument from a less-than-ideal signal, while overcoming common issues such as feedback and ‘bleed’ from other sound sources.
